Analysts at JP Morgan and expert Mark Gurman from Bloomberg independently came to the common conclusion that Apple's virtual reality (VR) headset will be released in early 2022. Apple's VR helmet will be the "most expensive device" among similar gadgets on the market, such as Facebook's Oculus, Sony's PlayStation VR, and HTC's headset.

JP Morgan experts note that the technical design of Apple's VR equipment will be close to the design of other brands and its main components will be six lenses, LiDAR and a Time-of-flight camera that forms a long-range portrait of the surrounding world.

Most of the components of Apple's VR headset will begin production in the fourth quarter of 2021 by seven Taiwanese manufacturers, including TSMC (processors), Largan and Genius Electronic Optical will produce the camera lenses, and Pegatron will be responsible for the assembly.

JP Morgan believes that Apple's VR headset will target the upper end of the consumer market, and prices will be "more expensive than the VR headsets currently on the market." At the same time, analysts note that the cost of components itself can exceed $ 500. This estimate is consistent with a Bloomberg analysis that "predicted" the release of Apple's VR hardware at prices far higher than the cost of competing devices. For example, Facebook's Oculus Quest 2 sells for $ 350.

JP Morgan also revealed the estimated time of entry into the market of Apple's augmented reality (AR) glasses. According to analysts," due to the technical requirements for industrial design and complexities in the supply chain, " Apple's AR should be expected on the market in the next 12-18 months.
