Computex 2019: Lenovo introduced the world's first 5G-laptop on the platform Qualcomm Snapdragon 8cx
Qualcomm and Lenovo introduced at the exhibition Computex 2019 the world's first 5G-laptop running Windows 10. The novelty is built on the platform Qualcomm Snapdragon 8cx 5G, which was announced this year at the exhibition Mobile World Congress.
The chipset includes a Snapdragon X55 5G modem, which opens up new possibilities compared to its predecessor X50. No more need for an additional 4G LTE modem, as the modem has support for 4G and 5G networks, and is compatible with 3G and 2G. The Snapdragon X55 5G modem provides data download speeds of up to 2.5 Gbps, guaranteeing the ability to be always connected.
On the upcoming presentation of a computer device with 5G support, Qualcomm reported in a teaser published on the social network Twitter.
Unfortunately, information about the new 5G-laptop Lenovo, called Project Limitless, extremely stingy. It is known that it will not be released before 2020. As you can see, the design is almost identical to the appearance of the model Yoga C630 platform Qualcomm Snapdragon. So, it is possible that eventually it will get the name Lenovo Yoga C640 or C650.
