Huawei introduced a thin laptop MateBook 13
Huawei at the exhibition CES 2019 presented a global version of the new thin laptop MateBook 13, according to Engadget. In fact, the novelty is the successor of the 13-inch laptop MateBook X, presented in 2017, and offers the most modern equipment in a fairly compact package.
The MateBook 13 is equipped with a 13-inch IPS touch display with a 3:2 aspect ratio and a resolution of 2160 × 1440 pixels. According to the manufacturer, this display features improved color reproduction with 100% coverage of the sRGB color space, high contrast 1000:1 and wide viewing angles. It is worth noting a rather narrow frame of the screen, the width of which is only 4.4 mm, due to which the display occupies 82% of the entire panel.
Based MateBook 13 are Quad-core processors Intel Core generation Whiskey Lake. The basic version uses the Core i5-8265U chip, while the more advanced version uses the Core i7 — 8565U chip. In both cases, the laptop is equipped with 8 GB of RAM. The younger model relies on the built-in graphics of the Intel UHD 620, while the older one is equipped with a discrete NVIDIA GeForce MX150 adapter. There is a 256 GB or 512 GB NVMe SSD available for data storage, depending on the version.
The novelty is dressed in an aluminum alloy body. The thickness of the laptop is 14.9 mm, which is 1 mm thinner than MacBook Air, which Huawei did not forget to mention. Laptop Huawei MateBook 13 will go on sale on January 29. The cost of the base version on the Core i5 will be $999, while the version on the Core i7 with discrete graphics will have to pay $1299.
