Hyundai showed the RM20e sports concept car with an 810 HP electric motor.
|Hyundai presented a prototype of the Electrified RM20e Racing Midship (RM20e) racing sports car during the Beijing International Automotive Exhibition 2020 in Beijing. It is based on the RM platform for developing future vehicles under the n brand. The designers were reportedly inspired by an electrified touring car (TCR) with rear-wheel drive. |
The RM20e is equipped with a 596 kW (810 HP) electric motor and 960 Nm of torque. It is expected to reach speeds from 0 to 100 km/h in less than 3 seconds and from 0 to 200 km/h in 9.88 seconds. The RM20e mid-engine prototype combines the power, balance, braking, and grip levels of a racing car with the quietness and dynamism of a regular car.
In 2012, Hyundai launched the RM project to develop n models using new high-performance Motorsport technologies. Since the launch of the project, a number of RM series models have been created, including: RM14, RM15, RM16 and RM19. in 2019, the first Hyundai racing electric car for the eTCR series of electric touring cars was developed: the Veloster N eTCR, presented at the Frankfurt motor show.
RM prototypes are used to test advanced technologies, find ways to increase performance and improve them for future use in future models of the Hyundai n family of vehicles.
