Intel Core i9 Coffee Lake Refresh got an unusual package
Desktop processors Intel Core 9th generation will be presented this month, and the closer to the official announcement, the more details about them becomes known. Another leak, the source of which was Amazon, shed light on the appearance of the packaging of new processors, or rather older models of Core i9.
Apparently, Intel decided to allocate the future eight-core flagship processor Core i9 against other models of new generation, at least by means of unusual packing. As can be seen in the images, the packaging of the new Core i9 has the shape of a regular dodecahedron — a polyhedron consisting of twelve regular pentagons. It seems that Intel has decided to partly adopt AMD's unconventional approach to packaging, the processors it uses for processors Ryzen Threadripper.
On the box, in fact, as in the description of the product, it is not mentioned what kind of processor Core i9, but judging by the presented characteristics and price is Core i9-9900K. From a variety of rumors and leaks, we know that this processor will offer 8 cores, 16 threads and a frequency up to 5.0 GHz. In this case, the processor has a price of more than $580, but the recommended cost of this new product should be slightly less than $500.
