Maserati to switch to electricity by 2025
Italian automaker Maserati will completely abandon gasoline engines and switch to the production of electric cars by 2025. This is written by The Driven with reference to the company's operating Director David Grasso (Davide Grasso).

Grasso said this during an online event of the newspaper Milano Finanza. The first electrified model will be the Grecale SUV. In 2021, a hybrid version of the car will be released, and in 2022 — an all-electric model. After it, the company will be engaged in electrification of the Gran Cabrio, Gran Turismo and other cars.

Probably, the change of course in Maserati is related to the changing policies of countries regarding internal combustion engines. For example, the UK and China plan to stop using them by 2035. The latter even drew up a detailed plan, which specifies details for the production of engines, components for batteries and other elements.
