MSI has recalled the GeForce RTX 3090 and RTX 3080 flagship Suprim series
|Micro-Star International (MSI) has withdrawn the GeForce RTX 3080 and RTX 3090 models from sale in the new flagship Suprim version. Recall that the new items in this series were presented just a few days ago. |
The recall of video cards from sale was reported by the Tom's Hardware resource, referring to a post left by one of the users of the Reddit forum. According to him, he wanted to buy one of the models of the flagship video cards from MSI, but the local store told him that the manufacturer delayed their delivery due to some defects.
The journalists decided to contact the manufacturer directly and find out the details. They confirmed that the supply of these graphics accelerators was suspended for some time.
"Yes, before all the GeForce RTX 3080 and RTX 3090 models made by Suprim hit retail and online stores, we stopped their deliveries to solve some problems. But they have already been fixed, and in the near future the supply of video cards will resume again. We decided to take action because Suprim is our new flagship series, so we want to make sure that we deliver a truly premium product," MSI representatives responded to a request from journalists.
The company did not specify what shortcomings (software or hardware) are in question. In the same Reddit forum thread, some users reported that in some cases, the performance of the Suprim version of video cards was not much higher than that of the Gaming X Trio series of video cards from the same manufacturer. Even taking into account the fact that the Suprim versions are significantly more expensive than the latest ones. Whether these statements are a fact and the reason for the recall of video cards-we will not say.
