NVIDIA introduced the GeForce GTX 1060 6 GB GDDR5X
Following the announcement of the resource VideoCardz Gigabyte is now working on a new modification of the graphics accelerator GeForce GTX 1060 NVIDIA has introduced this configuration option, although without loud announcements. On the official site instead of the usual 6-GB configuration now appears option, equipped with improved memory GDDR5X.
The GeForce GTX 1060 has received many performance options since its launch in 2016 and is still receiving updates as it is one of the most popular game cards. Apparently, it is no coincidence NVIDIA has decided to improve its accelerator on the eve of the launch of the updated 12-nm GPU AMD Polaris family. Obviously, the improved accelerator will have to compete with Radeon RX 590.
Original GeForce GTX 1060 got the memory at a speed of 8 GB/s, which was later updated to 9 GB/s to the 6 GB GDDR5. Now NVIDIA is going to offer an accelerator option with 6 GB of GDDR5X memory, which should provide even higher bandwidth and a small but noticeable performance boost.
