Remote work contributes to further growth of the PC market in the EMEA region
|International Data Corporation (IDC) forecasts strong growth in the personal computer market in the EMEA region (including Europe, including Russia, the middle East and Africa) for the current year and in the first half of 2021. |
The market is being catalyzed by the ongoing pandemic. In the context of remote work and distance learning, citizens of European countries are forced to buy additional computer devices.
It is noted that by the end of 2020, about 80.6 million personal computers will be sold in the EMEA region-traditional, ultra — thin and hybrid laptops, as well as desktops and monoblocks. Including workstations, the industry volume will reach 82.1 million units, which will correspond to an increase of 12.7 % compared to last year
In the last quarter of this year, PC shipments in Central and Eastern Europe (CEE), according to IDC forecasts, will rise by 12.1 %. in the middle East and Africa, growth will be 7.6 %.
