Samsung Electro-Mechanics received an order for the Galaxy A52 main camera
Samsung Electro-Mechanics has entered the market of camera modules for Galaxy A mid-range smartphones, having received a corresponding order from Samsung Electronics. This is the first time that Samsung Electro-Mechanics will supply a large number of camera modules to Samsung's mid-range smartphones. Until now, Samsung Electro-Mechanics has focused on cameras for flagship smartphones. It is expected that the market entry of products of an average price category will increase competition among suppliers of cameras.

A contract was signed today under which Samsung Electro-Mechanics will supply the main camera module for the Galaxy A52 and A72 smartphones, which will be released in the first half of next year. Samsung has high hopes for the Galaxy A72 and A52, whose combined sales are estimated at 30 million units, which will account for about 10% of Samsung's total smartphone sales.

Earlier it was reported that the Galaxy A72 will be the manufacturer's first phone with a pentacamera, and the Galaxy A52 will get a Quad camera. The resolution of the main image sensor Galaxy A72 will be 64 MP. What camera the Galaxy A52 will get is not yet reported.

The Samsung Galaxy A51, which was the world's best-selling Android smartphone in the first quarter of 2020, features a 48-megapixel main camera.
