Samsung Galaxy S21 can be unlocked by voice using Bixby Unlock
|According to recent information, Samsung plans to offer Bixby Voice as a method of biometric user authentication for smartphones of the Galaxy S21 series. These devices are expected to run the yet-to-be-announced version of One UI out of the box. |
As noted by the authoritative publication SamMobile, Bixby previously had the ability to set a voice password to unlock the smartphone without using your hands. In the end, Samsung, for unknown reasons, decided to abandon this feature. Now, with the release of One UI 3.1, the South Korean tech giant will bring it back to its flagship smartphones. There is speculation that Samsung will equip the Galaxy S21 with significantly improved microphones to ensure proper functioning of Bixby Voice.
Although voice unlocking may be of interest to many users, it is unlikely that it will provide a sufficiently high level of security. Current Samsung smartphones already offer users face unlock, but the security level of the solution is also very far from ideal, since the system relies only on the front camera. Previously, the company equipped its phones with a retinal scanner, which offered a fairly high level of security, but it was decided to abandon it in order to make smartphones frameless.
