SanDisk changes its name

SanDisk changes its name
SanDisk Corporation, which was bought by Western Digital Corporation in 2016, announced a change in form and name. Now it will not be a Corporation, but a limited liability company, and it will be called Western Digital GK. The changes will take effect on January 1, 2021.

A related press release says that Western Digital offers products based on NAND flash memory and hard drives, using several brands, including WD and SanDisk, in the consumer and corporate segments. In addition, the company develops and serially produces complete solutions for data storage. The SanDisk brand was used for flash-based products, but it was decided to link this direction more closely with the Western Digital Group name. Probably, in the near future, products under the SanDisk brand will remain in the past.
