Fujifilm has announced the release of firmware version 3.00 for the Fujifilm GFX100 camera. This update adds the Pixel Shift Multi-Shot feature to the gfx flagship mirrorless camera, allowing you to create images with a resolution of 400 MP. The principle of operation of the Pixel Shift Multi-Shot function is to get a series of frames with a sequential shift of the image sensor at a single click of the shutter button.

The firmware update has given the Fujifilm GFX100 camera the ability to shoot at 400 MP resolution

At the same time, the Fujifilm Pixel Shift Combiner app became available, which combines 16 RAW images created using the new Pixel Shift Multi-Shot feature into a single 400 MP image. The program also provides the ability to shoot with a PC connection using the Pixel Shift Multi-Shot function.

According to the manufacturer, Pixel Shift Multi-Shot is a great solution for photographers who shoot static scenes, because the additional resolution creates images "with incredibly accurate color reproduction, high detail and rich tones."
