The frequency of the flagship chip Qualcomm Snapdragon will be up to 2.6 GHz
WinFuture revealed a new piece of information about the flagship mobile processor Snapdragon, which is preparing to release the company Qualcomm.
We are talking about the Snapdragon 8150[/b chip], which previously also appeared under the designation [b]Snapdragon 855. It is known that this product will be produced by 7-nanometer technology. The processor will be able to work with the modem Snapdragon X50 5G, which will provide support for mobile networks of the fifth generation.
Chip has eight computing cores. It is a high-performance unit with Gold cores and an energy-efficient unit with Silver cores. In the first case, the clock frequency can reach 2.6 GHz, in the second — 1.7 GHz.
According to the available information, the new hardware platform will support Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac 2×2 MIMO and Bluetooth 5.0 Low Energy (LE).
Earlier it was also reported that the solution will receive a dedicated neuroprocessor module (Neural Processing Unit, NPU) to accelerate the execution of operations related to artificial intelligence.
Trial deliveries of the processor have already begun. The official presentation of the product is expected to take place in early December, and smartphones on this chip will be presented next year.
