|In Windows 10, a rather useful feature has appeared: the operating system will warn users that the service life of the solid-state drive installed in the system is coming to an end. The OS will also recommend backing up data stored on the SSD. |
This feature is currently implemented in Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 20266, published in the testers channel (Dev Channel). In an official blog post accompanying the release of this version of Windows 10, Microsoft notes that "after reading this notification [about SSD problems], users are strongly advised to immediately back up their data." By clicking on an important notification, the user will be taken to the drive management menu — "disk Management", where they will be presented with more detailed information about the problem SSD, including the estimated remaining service life and its temperature.
